Ameya Joglekar

Ameya writes about installable files he has not installed, which sounds like a limitation and is the point. A desk that warns people about unknown packages and then runs them to see what happens has argued itself out of its own advice within a single page.

The files beat
The apk entry, the version entry, the old-build entry, the catalogue entry and the iPhone entry are his. So is the observation that reorganised this whole section of the site: across the searches around this name, the word apk outweighs the word login by roughly two to one. More people want the file than want the site, and almost every page written about brands like this one treats the download as an afterthought.
His favourite finding is the least dramatic one. When Android refuses to install an update over an existing app, most people read it as a broken download and go hunting for a different file. It is not a fault — it is the system reporting that the two packages were signed by different builders. The hunt that follows is a response to a warning, and it is where a version question turns into a loss.
He is firm that "not found" and "does not exist" are different sentences, and he has rewritten other people's drafts on this site for collapsing the two.
